American Hazelnut (Corylus americana)

Beautiful foliage, fabulous fall color, edible nuts, cute tiny flowers that are probably the first thing to bloom in MN. This plant was once widespread across the US growing in the shade of oaks, hickories and aspens but habitat destruction and deer browsing has diminished its reign. Bring it back to its former glory!
