A true "wildflower" O. Biennis lives at the edges of our world along roadsides, in sidewalk cracks and anywhere it can eke out a life. In plain sight it is a superhero pollinator plant serving both visitors of the night and day. As the name implies this beauty will open up its blooms as you come home from work and shut them down as you are off to the widget factory in the morning. Lemon yellow blooms are stunning. The plant is 100% edible from the root to the seed. It only lives two years and if it gets too tall chop it down and it will bloom again. It does seed around so you have to be ok with that. But it will disappear form the garden in a few years as other plants grow up and take over.

Looks great in winter too. Offers bird food as long as they will eat it.

A NH staff favorite! An unsung hero!
