Prairie Crabapple (Malus Ioensis)

Native apple. Great for blooms, cross pollinating, feeding wildlife. All apples are different when grown from seed, there's no predictability here. 

Grows best in sun but can handle shade. Like many native fruits it tends to form thickets so its great for natural hedge rows.
