Agastache rugosa

NOT NATIVE TO NORTH AMERICA

*ATTENTION: in the last year we have mistakenly sold this plant as the native Anise Hyssop / Agastache foeniculum. If you bought this plant from us in the last year and would like a refund or would like to receive a native replacement of proper eco-type origin, please email us at preston@northernholler.com, no receipt necessary. Please accept our apology! This was an honest mistake which is quite common in the nursery trade as Agastache rugosa is often confused with Agastache foeniculum. Furthermore, there are many hyssop cultivars that are hybrids between Agastache rugosa and Agastache foeniculum and another MN native hyssop, Agastache scrophulariifolia.

We DO sell NON-NATIVE plants at NH including herbs, edibles and some annual flowers, however we believe strongly that our customers should have ALL the information possible, and that plants should NEVER be mislabeled as NATIVE when they are NOT NATIVE. The unfortunate fact being that this mix-up came about when we purchased a Agastache rugosa from another local native nursery who improperly labeled it as Agastache foeniculum. We then collected seed from that plant, grew them out and sold them without properly keying the parent plant. We trusted the original grower to provide us with a NATIVE plant but they too were fooled or didn't care. After our current stock is sold, we are going to remove this plant from our catalogue.

While Agastache rugosa, is NOT NATIVE it is a beautiful plant with many health benefits for humans and it is an amazingly popular plant with Bumble bees. Plant it without regret or shame.
