Eastern Purple Coneflower (Echinacea Purpurea)

Not technically native to MN but has been adopted. A short-lived perennial. Excellent pollinator plant and gateway native for those just dipping their toe in. Grows up to 36 inches tall much larger and tougher than the Home Despot specials you see dying on the racks in the parking lot. Don't mess with cultivars go straight for the good wild-type stuff! 

Excellent medicinal qualities.
